INDUSTRIAL MIXERS
Lengthy experience and ongoing research have led us to enhance our production of agitators and mixers that are tailor-made to the physical/chemical characteristics of the product to be mixed.
They can be equipped either with electric or pneumatic motors, gearboxes according to the characteristics of the machine, AISI shafts and optional specific coating, impellers suitable for handling liquids and fluids of varying density. ATEX certification is provided on demand.

Industrial mixers for liquids: choosing between fast, slow and side-entry
Nuova Darimpianti industrial mixers are built from modules: an electric or pneumatic motor, a gearbox where needed, a bellhousing with bearings, a coupling, a shaft in AISI steel or C45 coated with PP, PVC, PVDF or PE-HD, and an impeller matched to the product. This modular approach lets us configure each industrial agitator around the chemical and physical properties of the fluid. Selection starts with two questions: how viscous is the liquid, and how can the machine be mounted on the tank?
Fast mixers for low-viscosity liquids
Dissolution, solution make-up and chemical-physical water treatment. The four series differ mainly in how the shaft is supported:
- EV / EV-G: impeller on the motor shaft, the simplest option; available with a movable-blade impeller for IBC totes and drums.
- EVK-G: aluminium bellhousing with bearing and 7075 coupling, electric or pneumatic motor.
- EVL / EVL-G: single or double bearing, flexible or 7075 coupling.
- KVL: cast iron bellhousing with DCS angular contact bearings, for the heaviest loads.
Slow mixers for medium and high viscosity
Flocculation, neutralisation and polyelectrolyte preparation. The shaft is keyed directly to the gearbox and the four-blade impeller can have pitched, straight or high-flow blades. The EVR is the base model, the EVRK and EVRL add an aluminium bellhousing for medium and high loads, and the KVRL has a flanged shaft and 2 to 4 impellers, including ebonite-coated versions. Single or double flushed mechanical seals are available on request.
Side-entry mixers
When the machine cannot enter from the top, it is mounted on the tank wall: the fast LVO or the slow LRO, with internal or cartridge mechanical seals in ceramic, graphite, silicon, tungsten or Hastelloy.
Wetted part materials
The coated shaft and the impeller are made in PP, PVC or PVDF depending on the acid or alkali being handled, or in AISI 304-316 steel where the fluid allows. Compatibility has to be checked at the real concentration and temperature: the chemical resistance chart for polymers is a first reference, and our technical office confirms the final choice.
Frequently asked questions
Should I choose a fast or a slow mixer?
Viscosity decides. Fast mechanical mixers handle thin liquids with small impellers at high speed; slow mixers move dense fluids with large impellers and a gearbox. In the middle range, the process makes the call.
Which mixer works for paint?
Pigment and filler dispersion uses a Cowles impeller, available on the fast mixers and run between 300 and 3000 rpm. With large batches or thicker products, tank circulation needs checking.
Do you supply mixers for IBC totes and containers?
Yes. The EV can be fitted with a movable-blade impeller that passes through the tote opening and opens as it turns. ATEX certification is available on request.

Chemical Industries
In the chemical industry, agitators are used to mix reactants, catalysts, and solvents. They can facilitate the dissolution of solid substances in liquids, enhance chemical reactions, and ensure a uniform distribution of components
Pharmaceutical Industries
In the pharmaceutical industry, pharmaceutical pumps transfer liquids between tanks, reactors, and production units. They can be used to accurately dose active ingredients in pharmaceutical production processes
Food Industries
In the food industry, agitators are used to mix ingredients during the production of beverages, dairy products, sauces, creams, and other items. They ensure a uniform distribution of sugars, fats, flavors, and additives
